Meet our Arabic and Quran teachers.
Chief Executive Officer
Shaykh Mahmoud Al-Assal, an Egyptian scholar and Al-Azhar graduate, holds multiple Qur’anic Ijāzāt and specializes in Tajwīd and Qirāʾāt. With over 13 years of teaching experience, he has taught both Arabic and non-Arabic speakers and currently serves as Director and Senior Instructor at Shaykhi Academy, offering advanced Qur’an and Arabic programs.
Managing Director
Mr. Luqman El-Kasabany, Managing Director of Shaykhi Academy and a native Egyptian Arabic speaker, is a Hafiz of the Qur’an with multiple Ijazat. An Al-Azhar graduate, he teaches Islamic sciences, Tajweed, and Arabic online, authored the academy’s official curriculum Al-Menhaj, and also focuses on professional development. At 26, his youthfulness enhances his ability to engage younger learners.
Senior Qur’an Teacher
Mr. Ahmed Ramadan is a distinguished Qur’an teacher and professional translator from Cairo, with a degree in Islamic Studies in English from Al-Azhar University. He has three years of experience teaching Arabic and Islamic Studies to non-native speakers and translating Islamic and legal texts. Memorizing the Qur’an at eleven, he holds multiple ijazāt and has served as an imam for five years.
Egyptian Qur’an teacher
Shaykh Ahmed Hassan Saber, an Egyptian and Al-Azhar graduate, is a Hafiz with Ijazat in Qur’anic recitation and has extensive experience teaching Tajweed and Arabic to non-native speakers.
Al-Azhar–educated Islamic studies teacher
Mr. Mahmoud Elsaid, an Al-Azhar graduate and Qur’an memorizer, has over two years of experience teaching Qur’an and Islamic studies. With diplomas in education, he adapts lessons to students’ needs and teaches Qur’an, Tafsir, Aqeedah, Hadith, and other Islamic sciences to learners of all ages.
Al-Azhar–educated Qur’an teacher
Mr. Abdullah Moftah is an Egyptian Qur’an teacher, imam, and preacher, educated in Islamic Studies in English at Al-Azhar University, with a license in ‘Asim Barawiyyah recitation.
Qur’an teacher
Mr. Nour Eddin Mahmoud, an Egyptian student at Al-Azhar University, memorized the Qur’an at 13 and holds multiple Ijazahs in Qur’an and Hadith. He has been teaching Qur’an since 2021, now instructing both Arabic and non-Arabic speakers. Known for simplifying Islamic rulings and using educational games, he creates engaging and effective lessons for students of all ages.
Egyptian native Arabic speaker teacher
Mr. Saif Al-Metwaly is an Egyptian medical student fluent in Arabic, English, and French, who teaches Qur’an, Tajweed, and Islamic studies to non-Arabic speakers, while also having experience in self-development and institutional work.
Mrs. Asmaa Abdul Rahman, an Al-Azhar graduate, has over 10 years of experience teaching the Qur’an, Tajweed, Arabic, and Islamic studies. She teaches children and women of all ages, helping students recite and memorize the Qur’an accurately. Known for her engaging and motivating style, she simplifies Tajweed and delivers lessons with great attention to detail. She holds an Ijazah in Hafs ‘an ‘Asim.
Ms. Alaa Elbakry is a 29-year-old Arabic graduate with Tajweed training and Qur’an memorization certificates. She has online teaching experience, engages in charitable work, and is a published author of a short novel and a book of quotes.
Qur’an and Arabic teacher from Egypt
Ms. Kholoud Hamada, an Egyptian native and fluent Arabic-English speaker, is a Qur’an memorizer skilled in Tajweed. With over three years of teaching experience, she engages students of all ages by simplifying Qur’anic rulings and adapting her methods. She holds an Ijazah in Tohfa Al-Atfal and is pursuing one in ‘Asim.

Asmaa Gohar is a certified Arabic and Islamic studies tutor from Egypt with over six years of experience. She teaches MSA, Egyptian Arabic, and Qur’an with Tajweed using interactive, student-centered methods. Patient and flexible, she tailors lessons to each student’s level and goals, making learning engaging and easy to understand.
